Distant Worlds, amb la pell de gallina.

Fa unes setmanes, vaig tenir l'oportunitat d'assistir a un emocionant concert que no m'esperava veure a la meva vida. És una sort estar a Seül, perquè en una ciutat així arriben coses com Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy.

A few weeks ago, I had the chance to go to an amazing concert I never imagined I'd see in my life. I feel lucky living in Seoul, because in a city like this sometimes happen things like Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy.

Sempre m'han agradat les bandes sonores, i especialment les de la saga de videojocs de Final Fantasy. Quantes hores m'hi vaig passar amb el VI, VIII, VIII i IX! Quan em vaig assabentar que existien concerts on una orquestra interpretava els temes de la banda sonora, vaig pensar que estaria molt bé assistir a algun, però aquestes coses difícilment arriben a Espanya.

I always liked music scores and soundtracks, specially from Final Fantasy series videogames. What a lot of hours I spent with VI, VII, VIII, and IX! When I've heard about that concerts where an orchestra performs the osundtrack, I thought it would be great to go to some of that concerts, but these things hardy come to Spain.

Quan vaig veure que Distant Worlds oferia dos únics concerts a Seül no m'ho vaig pensar dues vegades. Així que allà estava, al Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall, un auditori ideal per aquesta mena de concerts. El director Arnie Roth dirigia la Euro-Asian Philharmonic Orchestra amb les músiques compostes pel mític Nobuo Uematsu. El compositor japonès va fer una aparició sorpresa, unint-se al cor per a l'últim tema : One Winged Angel.

When I saw that Distant Worlds were performin only 2 concerts in Seoul, I didn't thought twice. So, there was me, at Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall, a great auditorium optimal for this kind of concerts. The maestro Arnie Roth was directing the Euro-Asian Philharmonic Orchestra with the music composed by legendary Nobuo Uematsu. The japanese composer made a surprise collaboration, joining the chorus for the last song: One Winged Angel.

La posta en escena no era massa espectacular, però s'ha d'agraïr el detall de l'apartat visual projectant imatges acord amb el tema interpretat. Fins i tot, hi havia lloc per algunes introduccions i emocionants escenes claus d'alguns dels capítols més de la saga, com la introducció de Don't Be Afraid de FF8. El concert va comptar amb col·laboracions especials de cantants i músics per temes específics.

The stage wasn't very spectacular, but we have to thank for the visuals, showing some movies according to the song performed. Even there was some introductions and key sequences from some of the chapters of the series, like the intro of Don't Be Afraid from FF8. The concert also had some special collaborations of musicians and singers for some songs.

All together, it was a great experience that made me feel gooseflesh i don't know how many times.
