The Wire, the end.

Per fi! Fa unes setmanes vaig tenir el temps i l'empenta suficients per posar-me a veure i acabar la cinquena i última temporada d'aquesta sèrie obra mestra de la televisió.

Ja n'havia parlat fa molt de temps al blog, però un cop acabada i fent un cop d'ull al passat la cosa canvia.

És molt interessant veure com cada temporada es centra en un tema que dóna molt de si, i en el cas de la cinquena temporada, basada en els mitjans de comunicació, bàsicament la premsa, la conclusió o idea que em va venir al cap és que "la cosa està fatal" o citant al meu bon amic Joe "it's all fucked up".
I és que el retrat que fa David Simon de Baltimore no dista molt de la realitat que ens envolta, alemenys així ens ho fa creure. I aquí és on The Wire guanya molt: el realisme. Pot semblar una sèrie lenta, de fet, no té un ritme narratiu gaire televisiu, he arribat a sentir comparacions amb noveles, i parlant clar, no es pot comparar amb altres sèries. Veure com en 12 episodis d'una hora es va teixint una trama que es resol lligant tots els caps a la recta final és un plaer. I com els personatges tenen tants matissos i acaben estant relacionats els uns amb els altres, especialment en la última temporada, amb aquells 5 minuts d'epíleg on veiem com les coses segueixen el seu curs.

Por fin! Hace unas semanas que tuve el tiempo y las ganas suficientes para ponerme a ver y terminar la quinta y última temporada de esta obra maestra de la televisión.

Ya había hablado de ella hace tiempo en este blog, pero una vez terminada y echando la vista atrás al pasado la cosa cambia.

Es muy interesante ver como cada temporada se centra en un tema que da mucho de si, y en el caso de la quinta temporada, basada en los medios de comunicación, básicamente la prensa, la conclusión o idea que me hace venir a la cabeza es que "la cosa está fatal" o citando a mi buen amigo Joe, "it's all fucked up". Y es que el retraro que hace David Simon de Baltimore no dista mucho de la realidad que nos rodea, o por lo menos así nos lo hace creer. Y es aquí donde The Wire gana mucho: el realismo. Puede parecer una serie lenta, de hecho, no tiene un ritmo narrativo muy televisivo, he llegado a escuchar comparaciones con novelas, y hablando claro, no se puede comparar con otras series. Ver com en 12 episodios de una hora se teje una trama que se resuelve atando todos los cabos en la recta final és un placer. Y como los personajes tienen tantos matices y acaban estando relacionados los unos con los otros, especialmente en la última temporada, con esos 5 minutos de epílogo donde vemos como las cosas siguen su curso.

Finally! A few weeks ago I had the time and the guts to start again and watch and finish the fifth and last season of this masterpiece of television.

I already talked about it on this blog long time ago, but once finished and looking back, things change.

It's really interesting to see how each season focuses on one topic that gives food for thought, and specially fifth season, based on media, basically the press, and the conclusion or idea that comes to my mind is -quoting my good friend Joe- "it's all fucked up". Because David Simons portrays a Baltimore city that is not far from the world around us, or at least, he makes us believe so. And that's the point where The Wire beats it: realism. It can seem a slow show, and in fact, it doesn't have a television narrative rythm, and I even heard comparisons to novels, and honestly, it can't be compared to other shows and series. Watching how in 12 episodes of one hour long a plot is woven and it's solved tying up the loose ends on the final stage is a true pleasure. And how the characters have so many sides and they end up being linked to each other, specially in the last season, with that 5 last minutes of epilogue where we see how everything follow its own path.

드디어! 몇주전에 시간이 있어서 너무 보고 싶었던 TV의 걸작 드라마 The Wire, 마지막 5시즌을 다 봤다.
이미 이블로그에서 The Wire대해 다루었는데, 일단 다 보고나서 되돌아보면 모든 것들은 변한다.
각 시즌마다 어떤 생각할 거리를 주는 한가지(one)주제에 집중하는것이 재미있다.

 특히  미디어-신문에 집중하는 5시즌, 그리고 내가 생각해 낸 결론: 엉망진창이야!! (내 좋은 친구 Joe장희의 말을 빌리자면 "it's all fucked up").

 왜냐하면 David Simon이 그린 Baltimore는 우리 주변에 세상과 다르지 않다.. 적어도 이렇게 믿게 만든다.

이것은 The Wire가 말하고자 하는 바이다. : 현실주의. 느린 드라마 인것 같고 사실은 TV 묘사 속도 도 없지만 다른드라마에 비교할 수 없다. 

1시간 긴 12회가 동안 결말을 짓는것을 보니까 잔짜 즐겁게 봤다.

 그리고 모든 것이 하나로 종결되는 마지막 시즌의 마지막 5분 에필로그에서는
다양한 캐릭터들이 결국에는 다 연결이 되는 것을 알 수 있다.
